Terms of Service
Established: October 2026
Revised: October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Web API, MCP connection feature, and web pages concerning Japanese export and import statistics (collectively, the “Service”) provided by Washu Trading LLC (the “Operator”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
The Service obtains Ministry of Finance trade statistics through the e-Stat API and provides calculated values, including unit prices, year-over-year changes, shares, and U.S. dollar conversions, through its Web API, MCP connection feature, and web pages.
2. Use and API Keys
The Service is currently provided free of charge. The Service can be used without an API key. An API key will be issued after the email address provided by the user has been verified, and use with an API key is subject to a quota of 1,000 requests per day per key. Use without an API key is subject to a limit on the combined total for all users, and the Operator may limit or suspend use without an API key without notice during congestion, maintenance, or suspected misuse. You must keep your API key secure and must not transfer or share it with any third party.
The Operator may change the free usage scope, request limit, or other terms of access in the future, including by introducing fees.
3. Data and Attribution
The Service provides calculated values derived from public statistics. The Operator does not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for any particular purpose. Preliminary figures may change when final or confirmed figures are published.
When using information from the Service, you must identify the Ministry of Finance Trade Statistics, e-Stat, Customs, and the Bank of Japan as sources. If you redistribute data from the Service, you must also state that it consists of calculated values derived from public statistics.
In accordance with e-Stat’s terms of use, the following statement is provided:
This service uses the API of e-Stat (Portal Site of Official Statistics of Japan), but the content of the service is not guaranteed by the Government of Japan.
4. Prohibited Conduct and Suspension
You must not:
- Transfer or share your API key with a third party;
- Place excessive load on the Service;
- Access or attempt to access the Service without authorization; or
- Violate any applicable law or public order and morals.
If you violate these Terms, the Operator may suspend your API key without prior notice.
5. Changes to or Suspension of the Service
The Operator may change the Service, its terms of access, or its usage limits. The Operator may also suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service for maintenance, an outage, or other reasons.
6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator is not liable for any damages you incur from using, or being unable to use, the Service.
7. Changes to These Terms
The Operator may revise these Terms as necessary. Revised Terms will take effect when published on the Service or at another time specified by the Operator. If you use the Service after the revision takes effect, you will be deemed to have accepted the revised Terms.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The district court with jurisdiction over the location of the Operator’s head office will have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes concerning the Service or these Terms.
